چکیده :
This study models insulation defects and faults in synchronous power generators, specifically hydro generators, using Frequency Response Analysis (FRA). A hydro generator is initially simulated with Ansys Maxwell, followed by the proposal of an equivalent stator winding circuit. The frequency response is evaluated for variations in rotor position and various insulation defects, including small voids, moisture penetration, thermal aging, and overall insulation system degradation. FRA results for insulation faults such as inter-turn short-circuit and ground faults are also investigated, with statistical indicators used to interpret the outcomes.
