چکیده :
The new topologies of the Permanent Magnet (PM) motor have recently gotten a lot of attention. These newly introduced PM motors are not mature in design aspects and suffer from different perspectives. As a result, developing these topologies is required to overcome these drawbacks. Low fill factor due to complex winding configuration is one of the most common issues with the newly introduced Ring Winding Axial Flux Permanent Magnet (RWAFPM) motors. So, in this paper, a solution to this problem will be presented. This paper proposes improvements in its stator and winding configuration focusing on loss and fabrication cost reduction. In this regard, two new winding configurations will be introduced, in which the winding copper utilization and stator core shape are modified. The performance of the proposed winding configurations is compared to the initial RWAFPM prototype using 3D Finite Element (FE) analysis.
