چکیده :
To estimate the efficiency of induction motors (IMs), it is necessary to accurately determine the value of friction and windage losses (FWL). Measuring the FWL of IMs requires a no-load test, which is very intrusive. Considering that determining the FWL value of in-service IMs should be non-intrusive, various empirical relationships have been introduced in the literature to estimate the FWL of IMs. Considering the necessity of accurate determination of FWL for estimating the efficiency of IMs, in this paper, the various FWL determination methods are briefly introduced and discussed. In the following, the advantages and drawbacks of FWL determination methods are noted. Finally, offers for future studies in this field are mentioned.
