چکیده :
Brushless DC (BLDC) motor is the first choice for lightweight electric vehicles because of its high torque, high power density, and compatible speed range. The vehicle environment is very dynamic, nonlinear, and noisy. This paper provides a comparative study between two control schemes of BLDC motors: the speed control scheme using a model predictive control (MPC) approach and the stator current controlled scheme using hysteresis current controllers. Proposed MPC method does not require Hall sensors and uses the position sensor for gaining the values of the back-emf waveforms The two systems were studied and investigated under the same operating conditions. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were performed on the results obtained with each control scheme. the simulations illustrate that the proposed model predictive torque controller performs better than the traditional current controller.
