چکیده :
This paper discusses permanent magnet, radial flux electric motors for a directly driven electromechanical actuator in aerospace applications. The study investigated six fault-tolerant permanent magnet motors with different pole-slot configurations. The Taguchi method is used to optimize the proposed electric motors. Low-speed, high-pole number designs are demonstrated to be more appropriate for this particular application. The predicted performances factoring in torque, efficiency, mass, and temperature rise have been compared for the proposed designs.
